There have been some recent changes made to MetaTrader 4 (build 600+) which you should be aware of.
Expert Advisors, Indicators, Scripts and Libraries
After build 600, the above files are now saved in a different location, called the Data Folder.
To access the Data Folder go to:
1. File -> Open Data Folder
2. Open the MQL4 Folder.
3. Your Experts, Indicators, Scripts and Libraries should now be organised in the relevant folder with the same name.
4. If you can't find them there after the automatic upgrade, you can move them manually to the correct folder on your PC.
Please note that this is only relevant to build 600 and above. If you upgrade to the new build from an old one, all your EAs, Indicators, Scripts and Libraries should transfer automatically to the Data Folder. Make sure after an upgrade that all your data has actually been moved and that they are working properly. You can check your build number by going to Help -> About.
Modification of the MQL4 Language
After the modification done to the MQL4 language, you may experience some issues running your Expert Advisors. There are two things to do:
1. If you have purchased your Expert Advisor, contact the developer directly and ask them to re-compile it for you.
2. If you have developed it yourself, open it up in the MetaEditor Tools -> MetaQuotes Language Editor and compile it again. If you don't get any errors, you should be fine. If you do get errors, look through the code and see where you may have to change it. The MQL4 Forum is always a good place to look for answers.
We recommend you run your Expert Advisor in a demo environment for some time and test it to ensure it works as you intend it to in the new MT4 build.
